Navigating Business Opportunities in Saskatchewan
Nestled in abundant resources within the forestry, mining, agriculture, and energy sectors, Saskatchewan boasts the lowest provincial tax and operating costs in Canada. Currently offering three dynamic business programs, the province opens avenues for entrepreneurs to thrive. These programs include the Entrepreneur Category, Farm Owners and Operators – Young Farmer Stream, and International Graduate Entrepreneur Category.

Entrepreneur Category
Eligibility under the Entrepreneur Category demands applicants to showcase a minimum net worth of $500,000 (CAD), verified by a Ministry-approved professional third party such as KPMG & MNP Ltd. Additionally, applicants must exhibit at least three years of entrepreneurial experience within the past decade. A minimum equity investment, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the Business Establishment Plan (BEP), is pivotal. Ownership of at least one-third equity in a Saskatchewan business and the creation or maintenance of jobs for Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents are integral components. The applicant, whether establishing a new business or purchasing an existing one, commits to signing a business performance agreement with the Government of Saskatchewan.

Farm Owners and Operators – Young Farmer Stream
Designed for young farm families, the Young Farmer stream in the farm owners and operator’s category empowers them to establish lives and thriving farming operations in the picturesque rural landscapes of Saskatchewan.

International Graduate Entrepreneur Category
For international graduates from Saskatchewan educational institutions, the International Graduate Entrepreneur Category serves as a pathway to Canadian permanent residence. Applicants, armed with a post-secondary degree/diploma of at least two years from a Saskatchewan educational institution, are invited to establish, acquire, or partner in an eligible business within the province.
